War Child Canada has received an initial $100 000 for humanitarian
efforts in Iraq from the proceeds of 'Peace Songs' released
in April in Canada. The album features tracks from several
Canadian and international artists, including Céline
Dion's contribution "Prayer."

Gagnant
There is a new compilation out in France called "Retour
gagnant" where you can find fading stars from the 80's
performing one of their own hits from back when and one recent
hit by other artists. You'll get to hear Peter & Sloane's
sing "Sous le vent" and Eric Morena doing "L'envie
d'aimer" (the French version of "The greatest reward").
The P&S version of Sous le vent follows Celine & Garou's
version pretty closely, While Morena's version of d'aimer
pales compared to Daniel Levi's original version. Still, it
is interesting to hear from these songs interpreted by other
singers. "Retour Gagnant" is actually a TV program
where these stars will perform and the public will vote for
the winner. I guess it won't be long before it finds its way
over to the US. I can imagine Debbie Gibson or Tiffany sing
"That's the way it is" or something like
that.

à Las Vegas' on Thursday, May 29 at 10:20 p.m. local
time on the RTL TV1 network. The show will feature performances

celebrities have been spotted at The Colosseum at Caesars
Palace to see Céline perform in A New Day... in the
past few months. David Foster, Josh Groban, Lance Bass, Luc
Plamondon, Garou, Tim Allen and Dick Clark were just some
of the famous faces who walked down the red carpet on opening
night Since then, other celebrities including Oprah Winfrey,
Britney Spears, Annika Sorenstam, Catherine Zeta-Jones and
Michael Douglas have also seen the spectacular show A New
Day...

For MuchMusic Video Award  The
music video for Céline's hit single "I Drove All
Night" from her new album 'One Heart' is nominated for
the MuchMoreMusic Award at this year's MuchMusic Video Awards
in Canada. The awards will be handed out on June 22 and broadcast
live on MuchMusic starting at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Recording Next Album In French
As if Celine
Dion didn't have enough projects already, now comes word that
the singer has begun recording a new album in French, her
native language. Celine is currently in the middle of a two-week
hiatus from A New Day, her recently-debuted show at The Colosseum
at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The all-French album is being
recorded in Las Vegas, and is expected to be released in the
fall. French singing star Jean-Jacques Goldman will make a
guest appearance on the release.Celine Dion (news)'s most
recent album One Heart was released March 25. It's sold more
than 900,000 copies to date.
